Information for Foreign Residents and Visitors When You Are Sick or Injured

If you become sick or injured while staying in Japan, you can use the 
“List of Medical Institutions Accepting Foreign Patients” published 
by the Japan Tourism Agency and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.

You can also use the JNTO medical institution search page. You can search 
by area, language, and medical department.

In an emergency, please call 119 for an ambulance or fire. If there is an 
accident or crime, please call 110 for the police.

Foreign visitors can also contact the JNTO “Japan Visitor Hotline” for 
help in several languages.
